Prism Ping — Privacy Policy
Effective 16 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Prism Data Group ("we", "us") handles information in connection with the Prism Ping application for iPhone and iPad (the "App"). The short version: the App collects nothing, and the only network traffic it generates is the traffic you ask it to send.
1. Information we collect
We collect no data from the App. The App contains no analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDKs, and no telemetry of any kind. There is no account to create, no sign-in, and no subscription. We do not receive the hosts you ping, your results, or anything else you do in the App.
2. Data stored on your device
- Your favorites, recents, and groups.
- Your session history, including each session's chart, log, and statistics.
- Your settings, such as ping options and sound and haptic preferences.
This data is kept in the App's own storage on your device (its Application Support directory). It never reaches us, and it is removed when you delete the App. Sharing a session as text or CSV sends it only to the app or person you choose in the share sheet.
3. Network traffic the App generates
The App is a network utility, so it sends packets — but only the ones you ask for:
- ICMP echo requests (ping) to the hostnames or IP addresses you type, over IPv4 or IPv6.
- DNS resolution of those hostnames, and the lookups you run in the DNS tool, through your device's own resolver.
- TCP connection attempts to the host and port you specify in the port-check tool.
These requests go directly from your device to the hosts you choose. None of them pass through, or are reported to, Prism Data Group.
4. The optional public-IP lookup
The My Network tool shows your interfaces and local IP addresses without any network request. It also offers a "show public IP" button. When — and only when — you tap that button, the App asks a public "what is my IP" service for the address your network presents to the internet. That service necessarily sees your device's public IP address in order to answer. This is the only third-party request the App ever makes, and it never happens automatically.
5. Support
If you contact support, we receive what you send us (your name, email address, and message) and use it only to help you. We do not add you to marketing lists.
6. Children's privacy
Prism Ping is a network utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
7. Changes to this policy
If we change how the App handles data, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
